Mayim Bialik Divorcing Husband Michael Stone

Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy Farrah Fowler on the popular “Big Bang Theory,” has released on the website kveller, a Jewish parenting forum, the announcement of her divorce to husband Michael Stone.

“After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce due to ‘Irreconcilable Differences.’

Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly.

The hands-on style of parenting we practice played no role in the changes that led to this decision; relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose.

The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that’s what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain.

We will be ok.”

Those of us out of high school might also remember Bialik as the bright, funky-hat wearing title character on “Blossom,” or C.C. Bloom in “Beaches.”

For a child star, Bialik might be considered surprisingly well-adjusted. Bialik and Stone made it nine years before the separation was announced. Take note, Lindsay Lohan.

Oh, and she was accepted to Harvard and Yale, too. Just saying.

Bialik and Stone have two children together, Miles Roosevelt Bialik Stone, and Frederick Heschel Bloom Stone.

The estranged couple is seeking joint legal and physical custody.
