Madonna Almost Nixed Super Bowl Performance

Madonna Almost Nixed Super Bowl Performance The third time attempting to secure Madonna for a Super Bowl halftime show nearly wasn't a charm.

Madonna has been expressing some regret that tackling the Super Bowl XLVI performance Feb. 5 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis might've meant biting off more than she can chew.

Around the same time, she'll already have her big-screen directorial debut "W.E." to promote, reports Contactmusic.com.

"I was really torn about doing the Super Bowl because I thought 'Oh God, how can I do that and promote my film at the same time'," she commented.

"It's a little bit much. But my manager talked me into it and I'm still punishing him for that."

It would indeed cause quite the stir if she backed out now - though much like the internet's beloved honey badger, it's not like Madonna would give a s***. The performance is set to be co-designed by Madonna herself, Cirque Du Soleil, Jamie King and Moment Factory multimedia artists. Also, her reported set list reportedly includes some somewhat underwhelming choices: "Give Me All Your Love," "Ray Of Light," "Vogue," "Music" and "Holiday," according to The Huffington Post and other outlets.

Still, there's no physically possible way that Madonna playing second-tier singles could be worse than the Black Eyed Peas performing their biggest hits. We'll believe that can be done when we see it.
