Lindsay Lohan Gets Billy Joel Lyric Tattoo; 'I Go To Extremes' Now Forever Tainted
by Sean Comer
Being a big music nerd, the bigger thing I could do here would be to compliment Lindsay Lohan on her clearly superb taste.
I would do that, if I could get past the somewhat revolting truth that a great Billy Joel lyric is now permanently attached - associated, one might say - with Lohan's hide.
TMZ today has the exclusive pics showing a great snippet from Joel's 1989 Storm Front single "I Go To Extremes" forever emblazoned upon her right ribs: "Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife . . . I feel like I'm in the prime of my life."
Lohan apparently got the ink earlier this week at L.A.'s Shamrock Tattoos.
TMZ was told by a Lohan insider that she picked those particular words because "It represented where she is in life and everything she's been through ... it signifies that she's focused."
In a cynical sense, it does make sense: a tribute from one Long Islander with a history of substance abuse who should probably never be allowed behind a wheel to another. Still, gotta think of it this way: "We Didn't Start The Fire" is over 20 years old. So, for that matter, is the song from which Lohan lifted her new tattoo. People still remember those works fondly.
Give it 20 years. The only reason anybody will be remembering "I Know Who Killed Me" is in the sense of, "Remember that night we got totally high and decided watching that was a really good idea?"
And in the meantime, I'm now going to have a forced association in my head between Billy Joel and Lindsay Lohan. God, why in all Your infinite wisdom would you think that benefits me in any way, shape or form? Where is your logic, Creator?
