Lady Gaga's Alleged Demands Result in Lawsuit by Former Assistant
by Elizabeth SextonJennifer O’Neil, Lady Gaga’s former personal assistant is suing her former employer, claiming she was slave to the super star, reports TMZ.
According to TMZ, O’Neil’s demanded “unconscionable” work like fetching a towel for her after showering and keeping her on schedule.
O’Neil worked for Gaga for 13 months and is suing Mermaid Touring Company, which Gaga uses concerts. O’Neil, claiming she was overworked and underpaid is seeking $380,000 for 7,168 hours of overtime work.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, O’Neil earned “decent” money - - $75,000 a year. O’Neil says she got no breaks for meals or sleep and had to constantly ensure that Gaga’s chosen outfits were available.
The Hollywood Reporter notes, O’Neil is not the first assistant to complain. Angela Ciemny, a previous employee, alleged that she often had to sleep with the singer because she refused to be alone.
