Katy Perry Just Dropped a Tweet-Bomb in the Taylor Swift/Nicki Minaj Feud
by Andy Neuenschwander
It looks like Katy Perry has something to say about that "Bad Blood" after all.
The singer jumped into a feud between Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj today after the two musicians had been sparring following the "MTV Video Music Awards" nominations came out.
You see, Taylor was nominated for Best Video for "Bad Blood," and Nicki had an issue with MTV's choices. "If I was a different 'kind' of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well," Minaj tweeted. "Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it."
One could argue that there were different reasons why Minaj wasn't nominated for "Anaconda," but it was her follow-up tweet that said that if you had "women with very slim bodies" in your video then you would get a nomination that Taylor Swift took personally.
"@NICKIMINAJ I've done nothing but love & support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other," Swift said. "Maybe one of the men took your slot."
The exchange provided plenty of delicious discussion over race, gender and good ol' celebrity feuds, but it was all made even better when Perry joined the fray.
"Finding it ironic to parade the pit women against other women argument about as one unmeasurably capitalizes on the take down of a woman..." she wrote.
Yep. Katy Perry just called out Taylor Swift for the "Bad Blood" attack. It's gettin' real, guys.
