Gwyneth Paltrow and Matthew Morrison Affair Rumors Halt 'Glee' Tour Plans
by Andy NeuenschwanderHere's a great example of how not to dispel rumors of an affair, courtesy of Gwyneth Paltrow.
Rumors have sprung up recently that Gwyneth, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, had an affair with Matthew Morrison during her stint on "Glee." Paltrow has of course been denying those rumors, but seems to think that her denial didn't stick, as she has now decided to drop out of the "Glee" live tour.
According to The Daily Mail, a statement from her PR team claimed that Paltrow thought it would be "bad for her image to go off on a US tour." They also added that Morrison has "canceled a number of his gigs" as well.
The rest of the "Glee" tour will go on as planned, and so far Gwyneth's studio album is still in the works, but as far as Paltrow and Morrison sharing a stage together live, it's a no-go.
While it wouldn't be the first time Morrison has allegedly hooked up with a celebrity, I'm willing to give Paltrow the benefit of the doubt here. But here's a tip: if people claim that you had an affair with someone, just say "don't be silly" and move on.
Changing major tour plans in order to ensure that you don't see that person again makes you look awfully guilty, doesn't it? Is Matthew Morrison's charm that great, that if you're on tour together you just won't be able to help yourself?
Update: According to another more recent statement from Paltrow's PR team: "There are no plans for her to tour with Matthew. There were requests for her to perform at a few events but nothing was ever confirmed."
