'Glee' Actor Cory Monteith (Finn) Found Dead
by Zack Wells“Glee” leading man Cory Monteith, 31, was found dead today in his Fairmount Pacific Rim Hotel room in Vancouver.
Cory’s body was discovered in his hotel room earlier today (July 13th) when he missed his scheduled check out time. Upon entering the room, staff discovered his body and called for an ambulance.
Shortly after, the police arrived, and the paramedics reported the Glee star dead at the scene, and that he had been dead for a few hours at least.
The police believe he was alone when he died, after reviewing various hotel security tapes. They are questioning the people he was with the previous evening, but as far as they can tell, he returned to his room alone the night before his death.
No cause of death has been released, and the police don’t suspect any foul play involved.
Last March, Cory Monteith checked himself into rehab for his substance abuse problem. He had previously been in rehab when he was 19 years old. He was released from rehab earlier this year with the love and support of his fans, friends, and family.
When the news of his death was released, co-star and real-life friend Mark Salling, who plays Puck on “Glee”, could only mutter a single “no” via Twitter.
The news will certainly hit the Glee cast and crew hard as Cory Monteith was a series regular, and filming was set to begin on their newest season soon. Some of the cast has been together for five years now, which makes this even harder.
Stay tuned as more information is discovered. Until then, we here at Yidio wish his friends, family, loved ones, and fans a collective well wishing, and our thoughts are with you.
