First Look: Lindsay Lohan As Elizabeth Taylor
by Sean ComerSeeing is indeed believing.
The jury will probably remain out a good while on whether Lindsay Lohan has any business playing Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's "Liz & Dick." But for what it's worth, today's debut still featuring the "Mean Girls" star and friend of "Saturday Night Live" with Grant Bowler as Richard Burton suggests she at least achieves looking the part.
Admit it. Maybe it's the black-and-white filter. Maybe it's even something so simple as a good angle. But at first glance, I wondered if the Perez Hilton post wasn't a Lohan-free, mislabeled mistake. Give credit where it's due: she wears raven-hued locks well.
Lohan was cast as Taylor officially a few months ago, but it's only been about two weeks since Bowler was announced as playing Taylor's "Cleopatra" co-star turned husband (twice over.) Time will tell whether Lohan does justice by a classic Hollywood beauty like Taylor. It's also Lohan's biggest acting role since doing away with her supervised DUI/theft probation this past spring. This role could say a lot about how seriously she's taking her comeback.
Keep in mind, stranger things have worked in entertainment. We live in a world where Eminem and Three 6 Mafia each have an Oscar to their respective credits.
