Elisabeth Hasselbeck Bids 'The View' Farewell [VIDEO]
by Zack WellsAfter many rumors, it has finally come true. Elisabeth Hasselbeck has officially announced her departure of “The View”.
“Today is officially my last day at ‘The View’ and for a decade, I’ve been able to work efficiently at this table only because, and I mean this with my whole heart, that everyone behind the scenes worked more efficiently.”
However, things will not end there for her. Her hosting career is just beginning. She has landed a new co-hosting gig on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends”, eventually set to replace the current host Gretchen Carlson.
But Elisabeth isn’t the only one moving on from “The View”. As previously reported, Joy Behar has announced her retirement from the show, and the current host Barbara Walters plans to step down from the show and stay on only as executive producer.
So what is going on? It can be viewed that producers are trying to attract a younger audience with new hosts, as Jenny McCarthy is the frontrunner for a replacement host at the moment.
Jenny McCarthy was given a few chances to co-host along with the female powerhouses for Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, and Joy Behar. Whether or not she has been officially hired in as a co-host is still unannounced.
