Christmas Gift Idea: The Zombie-Killing Weapons Used on 'The Walking Dead'
by Andy NeuenschwanderStumped for Christmas gift ideas? Don't want to get dad another tie, or mom another Snuggie? Why not get them something really useful... like a set of weapons that they can use in case the zombie apocalypse happens soon?
Gerber, a company that I have to assume is different from the one that makes baby food, is selling this "Apocalypse Kit" just in time for the holidays.
The kit is supposed the very same one that Carl finds in one of the abandoned cars in the pilot episode of this season of "The Walking Dead," and the website is advertising the kit as such.
These weapons have indeed gotten quite a bit of play so far. Who can forget when Rick and Daryl hacked those church zombies to pieces with the machete and hatchet? Or how about just last week, when Glenn used a rather nasty-looking hooked blade to dispatch the Pez-dispenser zombie in the pharmacy?
The kit comes with a couple of machetes, a hatchet, and an assortment of knives, none of which are suitable for children, as Carl found out on the show. The kit is up for sale on the Gerber Gear website for $350.
If that's too pricy for you, remember that after the zombie apocalypse comes, you can just grab it out of someone's abandoned vehicle. They won't miss it.
