Christian Protest Gets Lady Gaga's Seoul Concert Deemed 'Adults Only'
by Sean ComerLady Gaga's been called a few things. While this probably doesn't mark the first time "pornographic" has been thrown in among those things, it shows she may not exactly be some South Koreans' bag, E! Online reports.
A Christian group's protest this week got Gaga's planned Born This Way Ball tour stop in Seoul deemed an "Aduilts-Only" gig. A small group gathered outside Seoul's Olympic Stadium and warned that Mother Monster's "obscene" music could potentially "taint" young listeners, according to a BBC report.
The so-called Civilians Network against the Lady Gaga Concert called her music, message and onstage antics "too homosexual and pornographic."
Now I just want to spend my afternoon not writing news, but attempting to calculate the median point at which anything becomes "too" homosexual.
In any case, protest organizer Reverand Yoon Jung-hoon told Reuters, "[The Christian Council of Korea] will take all measures such as boycotting [tour sponsor] Hyundai Card to root out this kind of obscene culture." That apparently included the Reverend himself attending the concert to "monitor" just how "homosexual" it got.
What action exactly he planned on taking if things got "too" homosexual, it's hard to say. Really loud prayer, perhaps? Use of prohibited flash photography?
Gaga herself was clearly moved.
I can you hear you Korea. I'm shaking.
