Update: Amy's Mother-in-Law Speaks Out
Blake Fielder-Civil's mother Georgette Civil expressed regrets in a new interview with the Mirror. Civil-Fielder is currently serving a prison sentence of 32 months for burglary and firearms charges.
“Things got in the way of them, like me and Mitch, and I feel terrible now. I think, looking back, the whole thing was handled very badly. He was protecting Amy and I was protecting Blake. But now I think they were worse apart than they ever were together. They seemed to enter a downward spiral. Blake ended up in prison, and Amy has ended up dying. Had we acted differently, would things be different today? That’s something I have to live with. There was too much fighting between the families. We could have worked harder together," said Civil.
“Mitch and I both believed we could have saved our own but we didn’t. I put pressure on Blake to divorce her, but both of them have spiralled out of control ever since. If you look at pictures of them while they were married and after they divorced, the sparkle is gone from both of them," she said.
