It's looks like "The Biggest Loser" is a big winner.
After a terrific year in the ratings, the NBC reality show about helping people lose weight has been renewed for a season 12.
The show joins "Who Do You Think You Are?" and singing competition "The Sing-off" as part of a new crew of what NBC Entertainment Division Bob Greenblatt called "bona fide hits."
According to TV Series Finale, "so far, the current cycle (of "The Biggest Loser") has been averaging a 3.1 in the demo and 8.68 million viewers. It’s NBC’s highest-rated reality series in the demo and the second-highest show overall, behind 'The Office'"
"The Biggest Loser" has experimented with a few different formats over the past couple years, varying seasons where individuals, couples and family members team up with each other to shed the weight.
For Season 11, a new couples edition, the show introduced trainers Brett Hoebel and Cara Castronuova who join returning trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.
At the start of the competition, host Alison Sweeney offered the 11 pairs of contestants the opportunity to choose which set of trainers would help get them into shape.
No word yet on if they will add a fourth trainer next season or work with Greene and the two new trainers.
