ABC Releases Its Midseason Premiere Lineup
by Sean ComerABC has its midseason premieres set in stone, but just where is "Cougar Town"?
With the 13th "Dancing with the Stars" season closing out Monday night, fans of the foxtrotting-famous-faces fandango won't have long to catch their breath: the 14th chase for the Mirrorball Trophy is the biggest announced midseason moment, with the opening performance show kicking off Monday March 19 at 7 PM ET/PT, with the season's first results show bowing March 20 at 8 PM ET/PT.
The hit competition show will close out almost three months of premieres that starts Jan. 3, when the half-hour "Bosom Buddies"-like sitcom "Work It" premieres at 8:30 PM ET/PT, followed by the 9 PM ET/PT premiere of the reality spin-off "Celebrity Wife-Swap."
But in between, the smash Bill Lawrence comedy "Cougar Town" is nowhere to be seen. The show was renewed for a third season this past January, but later had its premiere bumped from Nov. this year, to Jan. 2012. Now, Deadline reports that the third season will be sometime this coming March but with its run cut down to 15 episodes.
