The Razzies Results Are In: What Was the Worst Film of 2010?

As we approach Oscar Weekend and get ready to honor the best films, filmmakers, and performers of the year, it's important that we take a moment to acknowledge some of the worst as well. That's why every year the members of the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation give out awards to the most disgracefully bad films and performers at the Razzies.

The 31st annual ceremony took place last night, the night before the Oscars (as it always does). The awards for Worst Supporting Actress and Worst Supporting Actor went to Jessica Alba and Jason Rathbone, respectively. Alba appeared in a whole mess of clunkers released in 2010, including "The Killer Inside Me", "Valentine's Day", and "Little Fockers". Rathbone, meanwhile, was dishonored for his work in "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "The Last Airbender". Worst Actor went to Ashton Kutcher, who appeared in both "Killers" and "Valentine's Day".

Sadly, none of the winners were present to accept their awards this year. Sandra Bullock, in her infinite charm and good humor, accepted her Razzie for Worst Actress last year, one night before winning Best Actress at the Oscars.

One of the biggest winners (or losers) of the night, though, was Sex and the City 2, which took home the Razzies for Worst Screen Ensemble and for Worst Actress (for the whole cast, which seems like the same as the Worst Ensemble award. That's harsh). SATC 2 also "won" the Razzie for Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off of Sequel.

But going home with four total awards and the coveted Golden Raspberry for Worst Picture was "The Last Airbender". M. Night Shyamalan's adaptation of the beloved cartoon show not only won Worst Picture, but was also given Razzies for Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3D.

Does that mean you should avoid these movies? Not at all! Quite the opposite, a bad movie is a cultural treasure and should be enjoyed with friends. Few things are funnier than a movie that isn't intending to be funny. If you don't believe me, just watch "The Room".

So congratulations "The Last Airbender"! And congrats to you too, "Sex and the City 2". It was a close finish.

If you're interested in seeing the other nominees, be sure to check out "The Bounty Hunter", "Vampires Suck", and "Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (a surprise nomination, considering it was far better reviewed than the others).
