'Super 8' Spoilers: Paramount Releases Industrial Film Revealing Secrets, Glimpse of Monster

SPOILER ALERT!

In anticipation of the release of "Super 8" this weekend, Paramount has released a 1950's-style industrial film that plays a part in the "Super 8" story. Apparently, the characters in the movie get to see bits and pieces of this film a bit later on, so there are some reveals here that might give away some plot points.

In the video, Lt. Col. Martin Abraham gives us an overview of the top-secret project to study the monster that is at the center of "Super 8." Apparently, the creature is an alien that was spotted in a ship and was shot down by the U.S. military, possibly with a nuclear weapon.

Some of the alien's abilities are revealed, including the workings of its spacecraft, which appears to be made of thousands of high-energy cubes that respond to the creature telepathically. We even get a glimpse of the alien toward the end, with footage of "the assault."

When "Super 8" was first announced, there was all this speculation that it was actually a prequel to "Cloverfield." While J.J. Abrams has debunked that theory, this glimpse of the alien's hand certainly makes it look like we're dealing with the same type of creature: something pretty monstrous.
